Has Bono had plastic surgery?

He is almost as well known for his distinct wraparound sunglasses as he is for his music. But now the glasses have gone.... as has a recently seen plaster.

Which rather begs the question - has international superstar Bono had a little remedial eyework?

Beaming from ear to ear, the 46-year-old musician took the incredibly rare step of removing his distinctive orange shades and posing for photographers.

Boasting a fresh-faced complexion, and no hint of any under eye bags, the U2 frontman has every reason to smile.

He made his wrinkle-free appearance at the launch of a new third world documentary, We Are Together, in New York, as he posed up with members of an orphanage featured in the film.

When one cheeky youngster pointed up at his face, Bono laughed before happily removing the offending shades and plonking them over the giggling tot's eyes.

The move ensured that all attention focused squarely on the Irish star's remarkably bright and smooth eyes.

Ah yes, its the magnificently talented Irish singer, musician and frontman of the tremendously successful rock band U2, Mr. Bono. And when the savvy sunglasses wearing saint isn’t rocking the world with mystical melodious, he’s putting forth an effort to rid the world of impoverished children.

And now for the reason your here… A few years ago, there was some buzz going around about Bono undergoing a little plastic surgery of his own, after the singer was spotted without his trademark sunglasses, looking a little polished around the eyes.

There was even a handful of certified plastic surgeons who gave their two cents about Bono’s before and after look.

I definitely think Bono has had lower blepharoplasty, lower eyelid surgery, which the plaster covered up back in December. – Dr Lucy Glancey.

As well as the eye lift, he has probably had Botox to lift his brows because there is still a skin overhang in this area which wouldn’t be there if he had had an upper blepharoplasty.

With that being said, Bono has never actually admitted to undergoing any type cosmetic makeover whatsoever, however, that’s usually the case with celebrities who have in fact undergone plastic surgery.

In recent years Bono has really been his showing his age. If you notice he is always wearing sunglasses to hide his tired eyes. Bono didn’t strike me as the type who put much weight in vanity, but I guess when you are the front man of one of the world’s biggest rock bands, you are. Bono’s eyes were really starting to develop crow’s feet badly. It looks like he had an eyelid procedure called a blepharoplasty. His eyes were always wrinkled and puffy looking. They appear much more sunken in now. He also may have treated his face. Could be Botox injections, or maybe Restylane. He also may have had a chemical peel. It’s hard to say what else Bono might have had done but he looks slightly odd to me now. Other rumors have Bono getting what they call a mid and a low face-lift. It’s also been widely reported that Bono has had a hair transplant. That procedure is really easy to spot. Bono has been noticeably thinning for years. It looks like he also uses some concealer and thickeners in his hair to give it a fuller look. I think Bono is starting to age awkwardly now. There is nothing wrong with being a wrinkled rock star. Just ask Mick Jagger.
